THIS YEARS CONFERENCE DATESThe Conference is set for January 28th to 30th, 2009 at the Desmond Hotel. Make sure you mark your calendars early and plan for this event. Remember as a member of the Association your participation is at a discounted rate. It promises to be even bigger and better than 2008! Please contact any State Officer or your Regional Vice President if you have any suggestions for topics you would like to see or a guest speaker you would like to suggest.
OFFICERS UP FOR ELECTION
Your State Organization officers are up for election at this years Conference. According to the By-Laws, Dave Foldi is not able to run for re-election. Scott Murray has expressed his intentions of continuing on and becoming your next CJS/TECI Inc. President. Eugene Morgan and Robert Sternfeld have both expressed their desires to continue as officers as well. Gene wishing to move up to the office of Vice President and Bob continue as your Treasure. Both to date have been nominated for those positions, with additional nominations possible for those and other positions.
POSSIBLE AMENDMENT
Our Accountant has suggested that we entertain the addition of a "Board of Directors" to audit our finances on a yearly basis and to provide the Executive Board advice in the every day operation of the CJS/TECI Inc. organization. The Directors would also provide the organization with any and all support needed to continue our success. The Executive Board has voted to support the formation of a Board of Directors made up of five (5) members. This board would consist of two of the latest Past Presidents and three other members from "industry." We would ask that ALL members consider this Amendment to our By-Laws.
TEACHER IN THE NEWSThis is a great article about Area 2 VP Donald Entwisle and his students at the Broome-Tioga BOCES.
